he Federal Pharmacy Conference Program provides a tremendous opportunity for federal pharmacists to obtain additional education and training in specific areas of pharmacy practice. These annual conferences focus on defined areas of interest within the federal sector and provide insight into the innovations in private and public sectors as well.
You will have the ability to share and grow ideas with peers and colleagues from around the nation, learn best practices and new innovations, reinforce your existing skills, and learn new skills that will benefit the practice of pharmacy in the federal government.
Ever since the program's inception in 1989, four colleges from across the United States have participated in these annual conferences by designing rigorous education courses to challenge the pharmacy participants. Each college uses its special strengths in a particular area of interest to the federal sector and combines it with private and public interests to create a comprehensive learning environment that addresses the critical issues facing pharmacies today.
The education focus and areas of interest are as follows:
University of Wisconsin–Madison—
Improving Clinical Performance Through
Effective Leadership
The University of Texas at Austin—
The Pharmacist's Role in Treating the
Diabetic Patient
South Carolina College of Pharmacy (USC Campus)—
Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Its Application to Pharmaceutical Services
University of California–San Francisco—
